How Does Ultherapy® Work?
Ultherapy® targets the same skin layer (SMAS layer) that is tightened during a surgical facelift but without the surgery. The treatment uses traditional ultrasound imaging to see the skin layers being treated. Its ultrasonic energy delivers heat deep into the skin’s layers, increasing the growth of collagen that gradually firms and smoothes the texture of the skin. The entire procedure takes between 30 to 90 minutes.
Throughout the treatment, you may feel energy delivered to stimulate the collagen-building process. The sensation is temporary and most patients claim that our technique makes the treatment comfortable.
After the treatment, you may resume normal activities immediately. There are no post-treatment restrictions or requirements and no major side effects. Some patients see redness that usually disappears after a few hours. Others may experience slight swelling, tenderness, or tingling which are mild and temporary.
While results may vary, you will notice changes over 2-3 months post-treatment. Results continue to improve over 3 to 6 months, lasting about 1 year.
